Obituary of Lawrence Rispoli

Dr. Lawrence John Rispoli, PsyD., 62, of Farmingdale, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune surrounded by his family. Dr. Rispoli was born and raised in Port Chester, NY, and had lived in New York City, Matawan and Bradley Beach before settling to Farmingdale in 1980. He attended Port Chester schools and was a 1970 graduate of Lehigh University. Dr. Rispoli received his Masters in Social Work from New York University and a Doctorate in Psychology from Rutgers University. He worked at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in the Mental Health Clinic before creating a private practice, Freehold Psychology Group. Larry was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He coached soccer for the Howell Pinelanders and Howell United soccer clubs. Larry was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. His patience, affection, and sense of humor will be missed by all of his family, friends, and patients. Dr. Rispoli was predeceased by his father, Nunzio Rispoli. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Rispoli; a son, Michael Rispoli of Harrison; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jessica and Brett Joines of Baltimore, MD and Megan Rispoli of Brooklyn, NY; a granddaughter, Madeline Lauren Joines; and his mother, Philomena Rispoli of Port Chester, NY. Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 9:00 AM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, North Main Street, Farmingdale. Interment will be private.
