Obituary of Carl Haviland
Carl F. Haviland, 99, of Wall Township passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Haviland was born in the Glendola section of Wall and was a lifelong resident of the Township. He was the owner of Haviland Auto Service, Wall until his retirement. Prior to that Mr. Haviland was a machinist for Mack Trucking, New Brunswick. He was a member of the Wall-Spring Lake Masonic Lodge #73 for over 60 years, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Trenton, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Belmar Elks Lodge. Mr. Haviland was a member of the North Shore Antique Car Club and served as a special officer for Wall Police Dept.
He was predeceased by his brother, Morris Haviland and three sisters, Mildred Thoburn, Ida Vogel, and Eleanor Gould. Mr. Haviland is survived by his beloved wife, Leona Haviland of Wall; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Diane Haviland of Wall; two grandchildren, Mark E. C. Haviland of Elkland, PA and Darcy Rosen and her husband, Eric of Wall and a great granddaughter, Aurora Rosen.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Glendola Cemetery, Wall.
