Obituary of Robert Farry
Robert L. Farry, 77, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2011, with his loving wife, Vivian, at his side. Robert fought a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born in Farmingdale and was a lifelong resident. Robert was a NJ Licensed Professional Land Surveyor for Birdsall Engineering, Belmar, for 53 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale and served in the Army National Guard of NJ from 1952 to 1960. Robert was a member of the NJ Society of Professional Land Surveyors and a life member, ex-Chief and past President of the Farmingdale Fire Department of which he was a member for over 40 years. He served on the Farmingdale Board of Education in the 1970's.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Violet Farry; his brother, William Edward Farry and a sister Susan Gravatt. Surviving are his beloved wife of 49 years, Vivian Farry; two sons, Douglas Farry of Millstone and Scott Farry and his wife, Mary, of Apex, NC; and a daughter, Joanne Tully and her husband, Dale, of Spotswood; four grandchildren MaryKate and Robert Farry and Patrick and Megan Tully.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Twp. on Thursday, July 14, 2011, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, July 15, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale, 8 Main Street, Farmingdale.
