Condolences
Hilda: Sincere regrets over your loss - my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Fran
Jerry wore many hats and we knew him in different ways. He shared his God-given gifts with all his family and you wouldn't know his suffering because when he was with us, he always did his best to enjoy the many occasions he could be at. He loved Hilda and all his family so much and it showed with his smile. Just looking at all the photos, he was really special to a lot of people. God has blessed him.
Love and prayers to your family from ours. With love, Katie and Doug Hellrigel and Family
The memory that I have with my Grandpa that I will always remember was about 2 months ago. I went over to my Nana and Grandpa's house just to drop something off. Instead of just staying for 2 minutes, I ended up staying for about 4 hours! Me, my Grandpa, and my Nana talked about many different things. My Grandpa told me a few stories about himself and a few stories about me, when I was little. We had so many laughs that night and I learned a lot about myself and a lot about my wonderful Grandparents! I will miss those talks and my Grandpas interesting stories!

Jerry was a wonderful man whose grace and love is evident by his beautiful family. The world is a better place because of him. His memory will live on through his children and grandchildren. Hilda, Steve, Regina, Nora, Nancy and Jimmy, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Parents teach their children a lot by the example they set. I've observed my father for the past 50 years and learned a lot about life from just watching his fine example. First and foremost, he was a family man. He loved and honored his wife, his four children and later his beautiful grandchildren. We came first, there was no doubt about it. He loved us, sacrificed for us, worked hard for us and wanted the best for us. He loved his country and proudly served and we all heard his war stories. To me, he could tell a story like no other. He always began with "to make a long story short" but I never knew him to tell a short story! He was a gifted public speaker and could speak without a script which is a rare talent these days. He loved to sing and if there was a microphone and a live band, there was no stopping him! He loved to eat and make salads (aka, the Salad King) and he loved cars. He was a very honest and good man and volunteered his time to several organizations. The biggest lesson I learned though, from watching my father over the years was his strength in the face of adversity. He is my hero, always was and always will be and I will miss his company, his hearty laugh and his "short" stories ....

My Grandpa, Jerry Conti, was the sun that never stopped shining. Every Wednesday he brought to the table good spirits and a well known laughter. He will always be alive in our hearts. One night before he entered God's kindom he told me,"It doesn't pay to be sad about yourself , so be happy." And those words filled my heart with great joy... My Granpa, Jerry, is like no other...
Uncle Jerry was the funniest, most loving, heart warming guy I have ever known. He and Aunt Hilda and their family are really close family friends, but we love them as "family". What I remember most about Uncle Jerry is when the families got together in both our New Hampshire summer house and their Ocean City summer house all there was was laughter. You could hear his laugh from every corner of both the houses. He was always telling jokes and making everyone smile. His laugh was infectious. I will miss him dearly.
Wednesday nights in the Purcell house were always something to look forward to in the middle of a week. Wednesday night meant Nana and Grandpa's house for a five star meal and seeing are cousins! As always Grandpa would come out to the dinner table and share some of his wisdom with all of us. Whether it was a joke that brought smiles to everyones faces, or a war story that made us appreciate what Grandpa has done for this country Grandpa was always sharing his knowledge with all of his children and grandchildren. I took Grandpa's name (Jerome) as my confirmation name and will always keep a memory of him in my heart. Grandpa you were a great man and we will all miss you.
Our deepest codolonces on your loss- Jerry will always share a special place in my memory- he was the first relative I saw when I landed at Idlewild(JFK)on that snowy morning January 7 1958- a gentle cheerful man- loved by all - Brendan/Cheryl
