Obituary of Jerome Conti
Jerome "Jerry" J. Conti, 81, of Freehold Township passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Manor, Freehold. Jerry was born in Newark and was raised in Union and had lived in Marlboro for over thirty years prior to settling in Freehold Township in 1998. He was a lineman for NJ Bell for over 25 years until retiring in 1986. Jerry was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea and was a member and former commander of the VFW Post 4701, Marlboro. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Jerry was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda; a son, James Conti and his wife, Frances of Freehold Township; three daughters, Nancy Jean Predale and her husband, John of Blairstown, Norah Conti Stewart of Colts Neck, and Regina Purcell and her husband, Stephen of Freehold Township; eleven grandchildren, Jennah, Patrick, Jacqueline, Veronica, John, Caitlin, Elaina, Brendan, Jimmy, Mary, and Aidan; two great grandchildren, Xavier and Zander; and a brother, Tom Conti and his wife, Janet of Florida.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:00 AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, McLean St., Freehold.
