Obituary of Janet Schurig

Janet Schurig, 57, of East Windsor passed away at Princeton Medical Center, Plainsboro on Monday, January 29, 2018.  She was born in Perth Amboy, raised in Edison, and had lived in Mahwah and Cranbury before settling in East Windsor in 2006.  Janet was a lab manager and flavor chemist for Firmenich, Inc. in Plainsboro Township.  She enjoyed sewing and tending to her garden.  Janet also loved to plan parties and bake. 

Janet was predeceased by her mother, Catherine Schurig.  She is survived by her father, Robert R. Schurig of North Brunswick; sisters, Mary Paduano and her husband, John of Howell and Lynn Schurig and her husband, Michael Palmiotto of Brooklyn; nieces, Lauren Johnson and her husband, David of Jackson and Carolyn McDowell and her husband, Patrick of Howell; a great niece, Natalie; and a great nephew, Brian.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 9:45 AM for the procession to her 10:45 AM Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Veronica, 4215 Route 9 North, Howell.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s name to the American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.  Interment will be private.
