Condolences
Carmine is my God Father and will always be my God Father. I am the son of Herman Lewis Kolowitz born in 1946. Carmine and my father were radar buddies during WWII. I really didn't get to know Carmine on a personal level until after my father's death in 1954. We saw each other through out time. He even came to see me graduate in 1964 from Girard College. I asked my Mother to ask Carmine to come to my graduation. He surprised me. I was so impressed with his presence. From that point forward he shared stories of him and my Dad during the war. Up until his death we corresponded on a weekly bases via email. He was a kind soul and always there to suggest his views or criticism on any situation at hand. I will miss our email correspondence; yet knowing he is with his wife, friends, and Kolly (the nick name Carmine gave my father during the war) gives me Joy and Peace that he is in good hands.
RIP....Kollyjr
We knew Mike's parents since about the time they moved to Freehold. As guests at Mike & Patt's home, we got to know Carmine as we talked over dinner and listened as he reminisced about his life - family, military service, postal job, and more. As such, we felt like we knew Carmine fairly well and will miss our visits with him. Our condolences to Mike & Patt, Chris & Karen, and the entire family.
Dear Carmine,
I will always think of you as the most gentle, affectionate uncle I could have.
Most of our contact came when I was young and we lived closer to each other.
You and Aunt Lucy and the boys were always a pleasure to see and be with.
Love,
Michael
Carmine was a man of strong opinions, but under the forceful exterior he was a family man who cared deeply for his wife and children. His love for them was closely followed by his love for his country. He believed in the founding principles of the USA and went to war to protect them and to do his duty. He also had an unwavering faith in God and attended Mass even when the drive to church was difficult for him. His rewards in heaven have surely been earned. He truly embodied the spirit of "The Greatest Generation."
Thank you for your service Carmine.
Rest In Peace
Carol
Carl and I were best friends growing up in Brooklyn. Carmine was like a second father to me. I have fond memories of sitting at the dinner table with Carmine and his family. I learned much about life from him. He was a strong and caring man. My deepest sympathies to Carl, Patrick, Michael and the rest of the family.
You were a great Dad.
You took care of Mom throughout her life and were always there for all your family.
Dad, we love you dearly, and will always be missing you.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I always liked Uncle Carmine and his sense of humor. He will be missed.
So sorry for your loss, he will always and forever be remembered in my heart.
