Obituary of Carmine M. DiPierro
Carmine M. DiPierro, 94, of Howell passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, and lived in Centereach, Long Island before settling in Howell 25 years ago. Before the war, Carmine worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a machinist. Carmine was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II on the USS Henrico (APA-45) as a radarman. At Surrey Downs, he was a member of the Mens Club and could be found playing pool at the Clubhouse; and he was also a member of the VFW Post 9691 in Howell. Carmine enjoyed playing card games on the computer, and watching the MeTV channel. He was a loving spouse and dutiful caregiver to his late wife for years after she was diagnosed with dementia, and he tended to all of her daily needs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy DiPierro in 2015. Carmine is survived by his sons, Michael DiPierro and his wife, Patt of Freehold Township; Carl DiPierro and his wife, Jayne of Staten Island, and Patrick DiPierro and his wife, Geri of Greenville, SC; and two grandchildren, Christopher DiPierro and his wife, Karen of Durham, NC; and Vanessa DiPierro of Queens, NY.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow In Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
