Obituary of Donald Joseph White
Donald Joseph White, 83, of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived there all his life before settling in Jackson in 1999. Donald was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War. He worked as a manager in the communications department at Reuters News Agency, NYC for over 30 years until his retirement in the 1990’s. Donald was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Jackson and a friend of Bill W. In his youth, he was an avid gymnast, and was a respectable bowler, being seen on T.V. in the program “Bowling for Dollars.” Donald enjoyed the game of golf and was a diehard Mets fan.
Donald was predeceased by his son-in-law, Richard Bruehert. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Antoinette White of Jackson; three children, JoAnne Bruehert of St. Augustine, FL, Susan Monti and her husband, Edward of Howell, and Patricia Colasanto and her husband, Matthew of Freehold Township; four grandchildren, Christina Bruehert, Danielle Bruehert, Nicole Colasanto, and Anthony Colasanto.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, June 9, 2018 and Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 8:15 AM for the procession to his 9:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. Interment will follow in Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street, Brooklyn.
