Obituary of Richard J. Doll
Richard J. Doll, 80, of Freehold Township passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born and raised in Flushing, Queens and lived in Long Island and Whitestone before settling in Freehold Township in 1998. Richard worked as an exhibit manager for Eastman Chemical Company in Manhattan for 35 years prior to his retirement in 1998. He was an avid Mets fan whose great vocabulary and love of facts served him well with his crossword puzzles. Richard was a very patriotic man who loved his grand-dogs. He was an umpire and baseball commissioner for the Dwarf Giraffe for over 15 years. Richard was observant by nature, had lots of questions and could be considered a student of life. He loved writing to The Voice of the People at the Daily News.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn C. Doll of Freehold Township; children, Debbie Talamo and her husband, John of Freehold Township; and Matthew Doll and his wife, Susan of West Chester, PA; and four loving grandchildren, Frank, Megan, Gina and Madison.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 8:30 PM with a funeral service to follow at 8:30 PM. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Flushing Cemetery, Flushing, NY.
