Obituary of Marie-Christine Basile

Marie-Christine Basile, 49, of Millstone passed away at home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 after a long, hard-fought battle from pancreatic cancer.  She was born in Queens, NY, raised in Staten Island and settled in Millstone in 2010.  Marie-Christine earned her master’s degree from the College of Mt. St. Vincent in 2009. She was a special education teacher at Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn for 10 dedicated years.   An amazing cook and loving mother, she was always looking out for others. She loved spending time at the beach, basking in the sun and having drinks with her friends.  Marie-Christine devoted her life to her son and was the protector of her family.   She had a wonderful sense of humor and a razor-sharp tongue.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest W. Kaufmann, Jr. and Rosemary Ann Kaufmann.  Marie-Christine is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Alfred J. Basile, Jr. of Millstone; her son, the love of her life, Alfred J. Basile, III, also of Millstone; sister, Allison Fagan and her husband, Michael of Summit; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM.   Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, January 21, 2019.  Interment will be private.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com
