Obituary of George J. Besante

George J. Besante, 69, of Freehold Township passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center.  He was born and raised in Jersey City.  George was a postal worker for the United States Postal Service in Secaucus prior to his retirement in 2004, at which time he moved to Silvermead in Freehold Township.   He was also a Knight with the Jersey City Council of Knights of Columbus. 

George started every day meeting his friends at the Dunkin Donuts near his home in the early morning hours.  He loved gambling in Atlantic City, visiting the flea markets and buying lottery tickets.  George was a man of many hobbies and was blessed to many friends. 

George was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Catalano in 2003; and his brother Edmund Besante in 1999.  He is survived by his brother Robert Besante of Elkton, MD; his sisters-in-law, Adele Besante of North Arlington, and Lynn Feeney and her husband, Jack of Succasunna; father-in-law, Gerado Catalano of Freehold; and many nieces and nephews.
