Teresa Lebovits
1977 - 2019
Condolences
I was a student of Mrs. Lebovits and monitored for her in 2015. She was such a wonderful teacher and person and I am so grateful to have known her. She believed in me not only as her student, but as an individual too. Even once I had graduated and would message her and say hi, she would always be so kind and encouraging with whatever I was up to in college. She will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences go out to her friends, family, and everyone else whose heart she touched with her beautiful personality and spirit, which shall forever live on in our memories.
My condolences to the family. Times like this makes us reflect on what we had and the wonderful times shared but be assured our heavenly father know the pain you are experiencing now and the anxieties you find difficult at this time. May the many hugs, prayers and caring thoughts comfort you. May the resurrection hope our loving father promises (John 5:28-29) bring you peace this day and the days ahead.
Teresa was one of the kindest, sincerest, compassionate, empathetic teachers at Murrow. My daughter was struggling and we met many times because she wanted to discuss what she could do to make her feel comfortable, tutor her, and help her stay on task. She had my daughter Jade come to her office at lunch time and she and Jade would eat lunch together in her office and at the same time help her with her assignments. She was a true and compassionate teacher that "got it." She talked about her amazing kids and we had lots of laughs. Truly a wonderful woman. My heart hurts to know she will no longer be here with us. Sending love and support to her family. I am certain she will never leave you. She is your guardian angel and will make sure your paths are clear and beautiful. She will be greatly missed by all she gave so much and so freely to.
I worked with Teresa in the Program Office of E. R. Murrow for almost 5 years. Teresa's bright face and wonderful smile welcomed me back to the office every morning. The void she left will be impossible to fill. We shared hard work, challenges, birthday cakes, stories, laughs and many happy moments. Teresa was one of those people that make things better. She made the Program Office better, the school better, the people she met better, and now she is making Heaven better. Teresa, thanks for everything.
There are moments that mark your life. Moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same and time is divided into two parts
Before this and After this

My dear sweet cousin, because of your encouragement and support I picked up my life and moved to NYC. You and your beautiful family took me into your home and helped me in ways that I will forever be grateful for. You were always like a sister to me and I will miss you tremendously.
Thankful for the wonderful pictures and memories that I have to hold on to forever.
I love you TT!

The loss of Teresa is overwhelming and the video is very beautiful.
I will never forget her, she was a sweetheart!!!!!
After losing Mark in April I understand how difficult this is for all of you.
Your Wisconsin cousin, Carol
What a beautiful memory of her in the video. She so much deserved this. A beautiful woman, mom and wife. You will be missed by many. Please RIP our cousin.
I love mom, she was beautiful and was gone way to early. I will never forget her and she will always be here in my heart. I love you mom ❤️
Teresa was unfailingly kind and generous. She would always ask me what was I doing for exercise. I will miss her smile and friendliness. I hope her family can find some peace in the days ahead from all those who considered her a friend. God bless!!!
Teresa was one of the nicest, genuine people I've ever met. When she asked how you were doing, she truly wanted to know and cared. Her love for her family, friends, and all children in general was immense. I will truly miss her as an inspiring figure in the gym and the happiness she radiated. Rest in the sweetest peace Teresa.
im really really shocked on this sad news.... i couldn't believe my ears when i got to know about this news from my sister.... she used to be my math teacher in 9th grade back in 2006.... my heartest condolence to the family.... really very sorry for the great loss...
I am so shocked ! I still can't believe it that my Math teacher is no more. Mrs. Lebovits I have learned a lot from you. You were a great human being and a very helpful teacher. Words cannot be enough in order to privilege you and describe you. Your legacy will continue in Murrow H.S. and you will be missed. I remember meeting you last time at Abby's graduation from P.S.197, along with my cousin's Fatima's graduation. R.I.P. Ms. Lebovits, may the angels in the heaven look upon you !
Teresa came to Murrow as part of the "new generation". We had not grown very much as a department for years since everyone who was eligible refused to retire. Teresa was the new "kid" on the block. She had a commanding voice and a look that ended all arguments.
I remember hanging out in the teacher's room. Everyone was a bit grumpy for some reason. Teresa walks in with her Easter bunny ears on her head and we all burst out laughing. That's how I will always remember her.
I've known Teresa for 2 years, her daughter Abby is one of my best friends. When I first went to her house, I noticed that she was an amazing, beautiful, caring mom. I saw her on show nights, I always helped her find her seat. I remember when she was waiting on line for 10 minutes just for me to help her find her seat. She didn't want anyone else helping her. She even called "my special helper," I really love her, I loved her as a second mother. She showed me so much, love. She was so funny. I will always carry her in my heart.
Our lives are filled with memories of birthday parties, Communions, Confirmations, BBQs -- and any random reason to get together. Your home was always a second home to us. Our kids never wanted to leave your house! (This is probably due to the amazing Italian cooking that we can only hope to imitate -- but never replicate.)
When we first got Minnie, there was a BBQ to celebrate Teresa's 40th -- but we were uncertain if we could attend because of our pup. Teresa said, "The more the merrier." She didn't care if a crazy five-month old lab was tearing up her new lawn or chasing all the kids down the slip and slide.
We always felt welcomed by your family, and love them as much as our own. We knew that Brooklyn lost a little something when you moved out to NJ, but you made your new home as welcoming as the one you left behind.
You are always welcome at our house -- where Madison, especially, can pretend that Minnie is her own pup. (However, I don't think Matt will let you keep her.)
Sending you all of our love and heartfelt condolences.
I’ve been working with Teresa for years on the testing committee at Edward R. Murrow High School. Over the years we’ve shared a lot of stories, laughs and good times at work. Whenever I picture her I see her beautiful smile. I can’t remember being with her when she was not smiling. She was a strong, beautiful person who always took care of “her kids” in the program office. I will miss her very much. Murrow will never be the same without her.
I first met Teresea and Matt when they were counselors at the day camp that my nephew attended. They would pick him up in the morning on the bus full of smiles. It was an absolute blessing when Teresa became a teaching colleague. She is an angel taken from us way before her time. Rest in peace, my loving friend.
Dear Rita, Sam, and family,
My heart goes out to you.
With deep felt condolences,
Betty
A lovely woman that lit up a room when she walked into it. When I was a member of CFDA she was always encouraging and sincerely wanted you to do well. I am certain that her presence will be sorely missed by all that we’re lucky enough to have known her. RIP Theresa. Peace.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Teresa was one special woman! I was lucky enough to call her my friend. She could light up a room with her smile. I’m blessed for having known her. <3 I will love you forever Boss.
Teresa was one of the greatest people I've ever met. Her and Matt have helped me out tremendously over the past years that if it wasn't for her we wouldn't be business partners and we wouldn't have the great CFDA family that we have today.
She was an amazing person. Full of love and passion that you can hear across any room. She made everyone feel like family and helped anyone out in need.
16 years of friendship, 4 years of business and a lifetime of memories. Teresa will forever live in my heart! I will miss you always! RIP.
I know Teresa and Matt from CFDA. Teresa always had a smile on her face and offered encouragement to everyone in the gym, especially if she saw someone was struggling. The children were often at the gym and you could tell how proud she was of them. Matt always called her the Boss and she lived up to that nickname! Teresa, thank you for welcoming us and making us feel like family.
