Obituary of Joseph Edgar Maghan

Joseph E. Maghan,  87, of Howell passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  He was born in Wall and was a lifelong resident of Howell.  Joe served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Bricklayers Masons & Plasterers Local  8 as well as a former member and trustee of the Ardena Baptist Church, and a member of CrossPoint Baptist Church.   Joe was a wonderful husband, a phenomenal father and a loving grandfather.

He always rooted for the underdog, never wanted to see a child go without, and had the patience of a saint.  Joe had an opinion about everything and had strong political beliefs.  He was a real Mr.Fix-It, attended Sunday service, had the biggest heart and will be missed dearly.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Heather Maghan of Howell; daughter, Jill Joell Maghan of Howell; Laurie Jean Yeomans and her husband, Jeff of Brick, and Dale Joseph Maghan and his wife, Michelle of Farmingdale; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr., Cole Joseph, Dylan Joseph and Shane Charles; his sister, Betty Lou Textor of Wall; and two special nephews, Harvey Wiley and Paul Wiley, also of Wall.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM funeral service at the CrossPoint Baptist Church, 462 Squankum Yellowbrook Road, Farmingdale, NJ 07727 on Saturday, November 2, 2019.  In lieu of flowers, Mr. Maghan asked for contributions in his memory be made to the church.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
