I am saddened by Jim's untimely death. I worked with Jim as a pool attorney for the last 6 years and he always was co-operative and had a smile. Bye Jim. My condilences to his family.

As a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in Mercer County, I participated in many cases where Jim represented parents. He was kind and considerate of those who were dealing with difficult family issues and represented them with compassion. He will be greatly missed by so many in the community, not least of which are the under-served. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
I knew Jim at CBA and at Georgetown. One year we are on the same intramural football team at CBA. He would tell me stories about his grandfather and we exulted about the '69 Mets. He was a very nice guy and always had a ready smile. I was saddened to read Frank Byrne's email about his passing. My condolences to his family.
On behalf of the OPR staff and pool attorneys, we will all miss Jim dearly. Jim could have practiced anywhere, we’re so very grateful he chose to practice with us. I will always, always, always remember Jim as a sweet, kind, thoughtful man and excellent attorney. Jim, I hope the ride with us was worth it! We will all miss you.
To Jim’s wife, children, and family, the last time I saw Jim, outside of court or the office, was at the funeral for the young daughter of a colleague, this year. Who would know Jim would soon follow. I wish you all deep and abiding comfort, now and always.
I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Jim's sudden passing. It was a pleasure getting to know and work with him. His compassion for his clients, dedication and commitment to his work and family were admired. He was a wonderful man, who will truly be missed. From the members of my chambers staff and me, accept our condolences and know that the family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
I knew him through soccer--in Charlottesville, in North Carolina, and in Florida, where we talked on a Sunday morning in 2014 after he returned from an early Mass on the day his daughter Danielle would play for UVA for the national championship. I didn't know him well, but I knew how proud he was of Danny, and he always had a big smile and was a joy to spend time with. May his memory be a blessing for all who loved and cared about him.
My deepest sympathies to Jim’s family. It was quite evident his family was always his pride and joy. I have worked with Jim for 20 years. He was one of the first attorneys I met when I established my practice. Jim received the New Jersey Legal Services Reunification Hero Award that was presented to him for his great work advocating for families and he served as Chair of the Child Welfare Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Jim made a difference for so many. I will really miss him.
I only worked with Jim for one year, but he made a lasting impression on me. He was an exceptional attorney. No matter how difficult the case, he was always prepared, articulate, and effective. His prowess as a lawyer was matched by his humor. Jim could bring levity to any issue and could always be counted on to make you laugh. I’m so sorry for your loss. He was a great person and will be missed.
We are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. The family is in our thoughts and prayers -- sending hugs to you all.

I knew Jim through his work with OPR. He was an awesome attorney and a awesome man period. He cared about his clients and was a pleasure to work with. He will certainly be missed.
R.I.P. to my friend and colleague of 16 years, Jim. This is such a shock I kept believing it was just a mistake. You were the kindest of men, the most well respected attorney I’ve ever had the genuine pleasure of working with, and good through your entire being. Thank you for your ever present smile and making an adversarial courtroom more like a family.
To Jim’s family, you have my deepest condolences and prayers through this deeply difficult time. Thank you for sharing Jim with us.
I got to know Jim through common “parent paths” during Danny’s UVA days.
Through his eyes it was easy to see the kind soul of a humble, caring man and great father who offered generous smiles no matter what his status or that of others...
Our loss is heaven’s gain...
Jim was definitely one of the best attorney’s I worked, Will definitely miss him...
I'm so heartbreaking by the passing of one of the best attorneys in the OPR Capital Region, Mr. James Colaprico. For the last six years I have known Jim, he was one you could count on in the last minute. He will truly be missed by the staff of OPR CAPITAL. My condolences to his wife, children and the rest of the family.
