Obituary of James M. Colaprico

James M. Colaprico, 64, of Freehold passed away suddenly on Friday, November 22, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  He was born in Queens, raised in Old Bridge, and settled in Freehold in 2008. Jim was a graduate of Georgetown University and received his law degree from Fordham University.  Prior to working for his own private practice, Jim started his law career at Giordano, Halleran & Crahay in Middletown and then worked for Katzenbach, Gildea, & Rudner in Lawrenceville. He was a member of the American Bar Association as well as the New Jersey Bar Association.  Jim was a parishioner and a member of the social justice committee at St. Anselm Catholic Church, Tinton Falls.  Taking an avid interest in his children’s lives, he learned the game of soccer and coached their travel teams in Old Bridge and Holmdel for many years.  Emulating his Nana, Jim mastered the art of cooking and delighted in hosting many family gatherings.    He proudly rooted for the New York Mets and was a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan long before Bruce became “The Boss.”  Along with his wife, Janet, Jim enjoyed his annual trek to Captiva Island, where they savored glasses of wine while watching the sun set.  He was an adoring husband, loving father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Catherine Colaprico and his faithful dog, Jack.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet Pisani of Freehold; son, Justin Colaprico and his wife, Christin of Haddon Township; daughter, Danielle Colaprico of Chicago, Illinois and Freehold; brother, Gary Colaprico and his wife, Patty of Eatontown; mother-in-law, Margaret Pisani of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Donna Pisani of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and Andrea Pisani Babich and her husband, Gregory of Pinehurst, North Carolina; three nephews, Kevin, Nicholas, and Stephen; and two nieces, Christie, and Julianne.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 8:30 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at The Church of St. Anselm, 1028 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the ASPCA, Post Office Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
