Obituary of Michael J. Catalfumo

Michael J. Catalfumo, 48, of Manalapan passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in Monmouth County before moving to Katy, Texas with his wife, children, and parents. Together they moved back to New Jersey in September 2019, settling in Manalapan. Prior to owning his own home inspection company, NationSpec, Michael worked as an IT recruiter and in the construction industry. He enjoyed spending time at the gym and weightlifting. Michael was adventurous and was known to try anything, even bull riding. He always had a joke and pulled the best pranks. He was extremely generous and was an incredibly proud father. One of his favorite things to do was watch his sons play sports. Most of all, he was a beloved husband, loving father, and an extraordinary friend. Michael is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ana Catalfumo of Manalapan; two sons, Michael and Matthew Catalfumo both of Manalapan; parents, Joe and Lucy Catalfumo of Manalapan; four sisters; and many dear friends. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 8:45 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 91 Stillhouse Road, Millstone. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, Marlboro.
