Obituary of Gregory J. Stepien

Gregory Joseph Stepien went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 13th, 2020. Greg was born on April 5th, 1956 to Thaddeus Stepien and Amelia Stepien (nee Hughes). He grew up in Harrison, NJ, where he met his sweetheart, Suzanne. Greg is survived by his wife Suzanne; his son, Gregory Stepien, Jr.; and his two daughters, Alyssa Fattori and her husband, Wade; and Ashley Stepien and her fiancé, Paul Crosby. Greg is also survived by his sister, Carole Sammarco and her husband, Charles; his mother-in-law, Barbara Swayze; his sisters-in-law, Christine Palmer and her husband, Dennis, and Kimberly Swayze; and many nieces and nephews. Greg started his career in sales and soon took an interest in the medical field where he worked for 40+ years. He met with top doctors and CEO’s of hospitals in various parts of the country. He had a great passion for learning and teaching, and was highly respected by his colleagues. Greg had an enormous passion for Jesus. He was a true evangelist. Everywhere he went, he wanted to share the gospel. He was a Deacon and member at Colts Neck Community Church. Greg touched many lives inside and outside the church. He took interest in everyone and was an excellent listener—he had a true knack for making people feel special. Visitation will be at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM with his funeral service to follow. A private interment will take place on Monday, January 20, 2020. There will be a memorial service celebrating Greg’s life at Colt’s Neck Community Church at a date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to The ALS Association Greater NY Chapter.
