Condolences
I met Susan back in 1998 at Lazard asset management. We had some wonderfully funny moments at Lazard. Everyday she would talk about Mitch. We lost touch however beautiful memories remain. I have a photo of "the crew" at a Christmas party at Lazard. Please reach out to pass on patty.m.mantilla@gmail.com. My deepest condolences. Rest in peace Susan.
We are so saddened to hear of the passing of your wonderful wife and mother. It has been several years since we knew and last saw Rosanna and Nicholas at Lafayette Mills School. It was obvious then that you had a special gift of kindness and caring for others which we are sure came from your Mom. You are in our thoughts and prayers that your faith in God and love of family will carry you through this most difficult time. Love from Mr. and Mrs. Barrett
Dear Mitch, Rosanna and Nicholas,
We are so sorry to learn today that Susan has passed away. She was such a beautiful and wonderful person. Anything she attempted to do she did extra well. Her greatest legacy is the love and memories she’s instilled in Rosanna and Nicholas. She loved them both very much. We knew Susan years ago when she lived in Howard Beach. We reconnected 2 years ago through a mutual friend. It was so nice to see her and her family living a beautiful and well loved life. We will continue to keep her husband Mitch, daughter Rosanna and son Nicholas in our thoughts prayers during this most terrible time. We wish Susan peace and her family strength. May God keep them close.
Peace & Love,

I am saddened to hear of Susan's passing. Our daughters went to preschool together and we were pretty friendly. Susan was always so sweet. My prayers to all of you.
To the Hefter Family and Friends,
I met Susan back in 1998 at Lazard Freres & Company which is a life time ago, we fell out of touch because I left the firm in 2005 and a mutual friend of ours saw a posting on Facebook by her Husband (Mitch) informing her followers that she had passed away. I’m shocked because I have not seen or spoken to Sue (Prosa) in over 10 yrs. I’m deeply saddened by her passing and I would like to express my deepest and heartfelt “ condolences” to Mitch and the kids. I remember a lot of fun times at the office with Prosa (always called her by her last name was a military thing) and the gang. Rest in eternal Peace my Sister and we’ll meet up in the next lifetime!!

Mitch, Rosanna, and Nicholas, our sincerest condolences on the loss of your beautiful wife and mother. I remember Susan as a young girl her smile and big dimples ever present. i watched her grow into a beautiful young woman, and was present on the day she married the love of her life...although we lost touch over the years, I know through My sister Janet, how fiercely she loved you all, and how fiercely she fought to stay with you on this earth. This beautiful tribute to Susan is a testament to her love for you Mitch, her beautiful children, and her family. As I watched This tonight, the following poem came to mind....
A life well lived is a precious gift
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place
It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful hearts will treasure

My amazing Aunt Sue,
For the past ten years you have been family to me. Ever since I met Rosanna in the first grade, our families instantly became best friends. I remember always hanging out with Rosanna and Nick and you and Uncle Mitch and our 3 A.M night swims in your pool. These are memories I will always cherish. You taught me so much, but one of the most important things you taught me were bravery and strength. For every little occasion and holiday you always texted me with your little bitmoji and it never failed to make me smile, i'll miss those a lot. You always called me your partner and I loved you so much. I'll miss u, fly high.
We are so sorry to hear about Sue. Sending our deepest condolences to Mitch, Rosanna, Nicolas and the rest of the family. God has gained another Angel. Love the Cohen Family
You are so loved. You will forever be in our hearts. I will miss laughing with you. Your strength was legendary. An amazing friend, wife, mother, teacher. There is so much to be said about the impact you’ve had on us all. Ti amo.
Sue, I have no words to express how sad I am. We had some great times with our kids. We had awesome girls night outs. School store. Remember, "What happens at the school store stays at the school store". You were PJs CCD teacher. Our boys made communion together and next will be confirmation. We will be there for your family as much as we can. Our boys will go to Manalapan HS together and maybe have that house down the shore that you and I planned to crash and clean! You will be missed my friend. You fought a hard uphill battle. But until the end, you were still praying, and for that I commend you. You're with your mom now, enjoy it. Love, Michelle
We are all deeply saddened by your loss in our physical world but know that your beautiful soul and spirit have been and will continue to be a blessing to all whose lives you have touched. Your courage, bravery, positive outlook, smile, good heart, faith, loving nature and special personality are truly one of a kind. It was a blessing to all of us who were part of your life. Our love and bond know no boundaries. Your legacy will live on in your loving husband and children, you created a beautiful family and that is another testament to the wonderful woman and mother you are. God rest your beautiful soul. With love your cousins, John, Janet, Lisamarie and Cristina
Sue, I will miss you so much, my friend of 46 yrs. There are few who can say that they have had a friend for that long. I was one of the lucky ones. You are the epitome of goodness, strength, generosity, happiness and most of all, love. Every time we spoke or saw each other, I remember laughing and being happy as if time had not past and we were always somehow connected, despite the distance. We will always love you and cherish all the memories we made. You created a beautiful family and I know your memory and strength will live on in Mitch, Rosanna, Nicholas, Ricky and your dad. They were everything to you and I know you will guide them just as you always have. You were more than just a loving friend, you were our family. Until we meet again.
Words cannot express how amazing Sue was. I've had the honor of knowing Sue for the past 10 years. The strength, courage and love that Sue showed should be a lifelong lesson for all of us. Our families have had so many wonderful and special memories that I will always treasure. When our families get together you will always be there in spirit and we will continue to look back on all the memories that we shared. I know you will be looking down and watching over Mitch, Rosanna and Nicholas. Heaven has certainly gained a very special Angel and may you rest in peace...
Bedda,
We first met when the girls were in first grade together. We became fast friends that turned into family. We shared so many amazing memories filled with love and laughter. You showed your family love, strength, bravery and laughter. They will forever carry these attributes with them. Whenever we get together going forward, you will be with us. Your memory will always be with us. We will miss you like crazy. Now go catch up with your mom, don’t cause too much havoc up there and come visit every once in a while. I love you my beautiful friend....until we meet again my Bedda.
She was a treasure - the pillar of strength and hope we were all lucky enough to know. Mitch you and Sue had the most wonderful and admired partnership. Although you will miss her know you have the most beautiful and treasured memories of your time together.
I will always be thinking about her on tough Sicilian Girl Tuesdays!
Rest easy my friend,
Roseann McSorley
Heaven received an upgrade when Sue arrived, she had the "Easy Pass" through the gates. I had the honor and privilege of meeting Sue and Mitch 20+ years ago, and over the years we grew into family. When you look above you see two dates, but the key is the dash in-between, that dash contains all the wonderful memories. Everyone mourns in their own way, I have decided to focus on the happy times we spent together, the weddings, the milestone birthdays and the laughs. Mitch, Rosanna, Nick, you have a "Sicilian Angel" watching over you and protecting you. I am sure she is cooking up one amazing meal right now with her mom. Gone from our sights, but never from our hearts! May Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
