I worked many years with the Padre (as I always called him) at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center. We often had dinners together after work. He was truly dedicated to the care of the chronically mentally ill. He never forgot to send me and my familly Chistmas gifts and he even remembered our anniversary. I will miss him greatly. He was a true friend. His compassion and smile I will always remember. Goodbye my cherished friend.

Fr. Augie was truly an amazing man and priest. His vocation and witness has inspired and encouraged me immensely. He was so generous and always willing to share his counsel and words of comfort with everyone he met. He was a humble, kind, joyful, loving servant of God. I am so happy to have met him at Queen of Peace several years ago. I continue to pray for him daily and keep his family in my thoughts and prayers. I have very fond memories of Augie from Cathedral College, even though I was a year younger and came from the Diocese of Rockville Centre. We both worked with Fr. Harold Buckley on the stage crew for so many stellar productions. Augie was quite a guy and a true gentle man. Rest in Peace.

I knew Augie as a classmate at Cathedral College in Douglaston. He always had a wonderful smile and great sense of humor about him. He is the kind of man that we are thankful for in all his service to our faith. God bless him and may he rest in peace.

I have had the honor and the privilege of being Father Augie's personal physician for the past 15 years. It was an honor indeed to care for this wonderful man. He was loved by everyone in my office. Father Augie went through a lot in his final years, but he never once complained about why his health was poor. Instead he inspired all who knew him. When his health prevented him from serving at his parish, he arranged to serve his fellow priests. When he was in the hospital he comforted the sick around him. I have never met a kinder or gentler man. He would always tell me he would say a prayer for me when I visited him at the Hospital. No matter how sick he felt he always had a smile and a prayer for those he encountered. I know he's in Heaven now and watching over all of us. May God rest his soul.
