Obituary of David Charles Quail
David Charles Quail, 68, of Howell passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at home. He was born in Staten Island and had lived in Santa Cruz, California. David moved to Bradley Beach is 1973 and lived in Lakewood for 20 years before settling in Freehold in 2000. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Clayton and Bil-Jim for over 40 years. David had a passion for music leading him to play guitar in his own band “Flat Head Dave & The Magnetos” and “Happy Days String Band”. He was an Elk member in Jackson, loved to restore old cars in his spare time, and was a devoted foster parent for 10 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Linda Quail; brothers, Gary Quail and Bobby Quail; and sister, Leann Quail. David is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Catherine Quail of Howell; children, Heather Lister and her husband, Steven of Naples, FL, Aprile Quail of Freehold, and Jose Arellano of Howell; sister, Lisa Quail of CA; nephew, Paul Drake and his wife, Michelle of Cleona, PA; great nieces, Alexandra and Mollee Drake of Cleona, PA; and many loving foster sons, daughters, and their children.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, December 7, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at a later date to be announced in St. Anne Cemetery, 1610 Allenwood Road, Wall Township.
