Obituary of Frank J. Fiore
Frank J. Fiore, 84, of Farmingdale passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in New York, raised in Irvington, and lived in Springfield and Florham Park before residing in Farmingdale in 2011. Frank was a true businessman which led to his success as a restaurant owner for 75 years at Joe’s Drive-In Pizzeria. He graduated from Gettysburg College with a Bachelor’s Degree and belonged to the Lambda Chi Fraternity. Frank was a National Guard Medic and was a member of the Equestra Bowling League. He enjoyed skiing, watching all sports, and gardening, especially growing Arugula and Fig Trees. Frank was known for his special smile and always fun to be around. He was selfless, always taking great interest in what everyone in his family was doing. Above all, Frank was passionate about spending quality time with his family.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Joann Fiore; daughter, Lori Ann Fiore; and parents, Joseph and Josephine Fiore. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Theresa Fiore of Farmingdale; children, Joseph Fiore of Union, Melissa Fiore of Hazlet, and Cara Irwin and her husband, Richard of Florham Park; grandchildren, Alexis Fiore, Angela Irwin, and Courtney Irwin; and many loving extended family members.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, January 29, 2021 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale. Interment will follow in St. Teresa Cemetery, 136 Passaic Ave, Summit. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines.
