Obituary of David Vincent Labbate

David Vincent Labbate, 36, of Jackson passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 31, 2021.  David was born in Hackensack and raised in Ramsey and Freehold.  He was a graduate of Freehold Boro High School and joined the United States Army.  He served in Iraq from 2003 to 2007.  David was honorably discharged as a SPC, completed his reserve obligation in 2010 and worked in the oil industry. David was a fan of Johnny Cash, podcasts and stand-up comedy.  He had a love for dogs, beach and a good pizza.  David had a passion for tattoos, was true to his faith, and was a man of his word.

David was predeceased by his mother, Lucille; maternal grandparents, Daniel and Nancy Berardinelli; paternal grandparents, Vincent and Irene Labbate.  He is survived by his father and stepmother, Vincent and Michele Labbate of Jackson; siblings, Danielle Wilkinson and her husband, Adam of Ashburn, VA, Elizabeth Gill and her husband, Michael of Howell, and Michael Rizzo and his wife, Kyshee of Seattle, WA; four nieces, Lucy, Olivia, Delaney, and Nadine; maternal grandmother, Louise Murino; girlfriend, April Atkinson; aunts and uncles, Ferdi and Frank Medora, Lisa Berardinelli, Monica Berardinelli, Donna and Richie   Picone, Joanne Murino, and Matthew and Grace Murino; and numerous cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. For those who cannot attend in person you may participate via webcast through Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home’s website HERE.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ 07728.  For the safety of the public, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required.
