Obituary of Joseph D. Soldano
Joseph D. Soldano, 75, of Freehold Township passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Jersey City and raised in West New York, New Jersey. Joseph had lived in Germany while bravely serving in the United States Army before settling to Freehold 50 years ago. He worked for Wheaton Glass for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. Joseph was an avid fan of sports, which led to his success as a great coach, especially of football and baseball. He enjoyed watching his children and most recently his granddaughters compete. Joseph also worked for the Freehold Township Recreation for many years. He never said no and was always willing to help anyone in need. Joseph enjoyed a good meal, always had a smile on his face, and was known for his kind heart. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and caring poppy.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Sal Soldano, Frank Soldano, and Rae Adams. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Leslie Soldano of Freehold; children, Kendale Soldano and her husband, Brett of Freehold and Brian Soldano and his wife, Katie of Freehold; and grandchildren, Rylee, Reagan, and Morgan.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with his funeral service to follow.
