Obituary of Lazzaro Curato
Lazzaro “Larry” Curato, 63, of Brick passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, had moved to Manalapan in 1998, and settled to Brick 4 years ago. Larry worked as a skilled contractor for many years. He loved being on the water and taking out jet skis and pontoon boats. Larry collected signed baseball and football memorabilia and enjoyed fishing. He found joy in Atlantic City poker games, playing cards with his loved ones, and teaching card games to his granddaughter, Juliana. He was always the life of the party and was known for his contagious laugh that would echo throughout and light up any room. Larry was always there for anyone who needed him, no questions asked. He and Donna were true soulmates and were always by each other’s side. Larry was adamant on living life to the fullest and thoroughly appreciated taking vacations in the islands with family and friends. He adored being around his family, which led him to host many parties to get them all together. Above all, Larry was a devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, and brother.
He was predeceased by his son, Danny Curato; mother, Gina Curato; and father-in-law, Daniel Dier. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Donna Curato of Brick; daughter, Laura Sullivano and her husband, James of Howell; grandchildren, Juliana, Lorenzo, and Mikayla; father, Paul Curato of Brooklyn; brother, Nicholas Curato and his wife, Rosalie of PA; mother-in-law, Joann Dier of Brooklyn; sister-in-law, Andrea Castro and her husband, Russell of Marlboro; brother-in-law, Daniel Dier and his wife, Evelyn of Long Island; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and faithful canine companion, Zeus.
