I am so sorry to the Book Family for Carl's passing.
I did not know Carl Sr well but based on what my dad (Ed Book III - his brother) said over many many years, I knew he was respected & loved by many family. I have met some of his family members over the year & have enjoyed their company & they also have spoken highly of him & reflect well on him.
I have many great memories of visiting Aunt Gerry and Uncle Carl. Uncle Carl was one of my favorite Uncles and very special. My deepest Sympathy to the Book family. Alice Ouellette
I was sorry to hear about Uncle Carl, he was a nice guy. I always enjoyed his company the few times I had the opportunity to engage with him. The one lasting memory I have was the first time we met, at a family wedding and when we were introduced he said to me so you are the new boyfriend, let me buy you a drink. He took me into the bar and got me a scotch on the rocks we talked for a while and he asked " is this thing serious?" I did not have a chance to respond when he said Alice is a very nice girl
attractive but you have to consider there is the potential that she could drive you crazy for twenty years or so, consider yourself forewarned. I guess he gave me the advantage most people don't get but I did not heed his advice. Currently married for 44 years.
Fondly, Bill Ouellette, husband of Niece Alice Frederick
Our deepest sympathies to all of Carl's family and friends. Uncle Carl was a wonderful and beloved brother-in-law and uncle to our family. With his huge, caring heart and brilliant wit, he had a way of always making each of us feel very special and cherished. He will be deeply missed and remembered with love.
Love,
Aunt Wanda and cousins Gradie, Alice, Nancy, and Becky

Our sincerest condolences to the Book family.
I always enjoyed conversation with Carl. He was a unique person, humble, funny, and a true gentleman.
Carl trained with me some twenty years ago and that’s when our friendship began. He was an inspiring student that always gave 100% no matter what.
Thank you, Carl, for the great memorizes.
God Bless you, my friend.
Love,
Art & Liliana Beins
Carl first graced my life when he and Jon joined our men’s bereavement group at St. Mary’s when Carl’s beloved Irene died. Within this group lasting friendships were formed. Carl was a constant at our meetings, always genuinely concerned about any newcomer’s story and eager to offer support and encouragement. Always had a laugh to offer with his great sense of humor. Carl was a very kind man, always one of the first to visit a friend at the hospital. Although the world will miss this wonderful presence in our lives, I have no doubt that Carl is now resting with his Irene within God’s arms! (Oh, and I’m also willing to bet that God just might have lightened up on the “no smoking rule” in Heaven, for our cigar loving guy, Carl!) Rest peacefully, my friend, it was pleasure to have laughed with you in this world!
With love and sympathy to his family he so deeply loved.
