Obituary of Angelo Avvento
Angelo Avvento, 79, of Manalapan passed away on Monday, August 30 , 2021 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had settled to Manalapan in 1985 to raise his family. Growing up in New York, Angelo naturally was a Mets fan. He was known as a true gentleman who was kindhearted and the best listener. Angelo loved being a family man, his favorite title being Grandpa “Poppy” to his grandson Vincent.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gennaro and Amelia Avvento, Siblings Peter Avvento, Joseph Avvento, Nicholas Avvento, Jack Avvento, Richard Avvento and Rose Grippo. Angelo is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dolores Avvento of Manalapan; Sons, Peter Avvento and his girlfriend Christina Delsignore of Long Island and Joseph Avvento and his wife Felicia of Yardley PA; Grandson, Vincent Avvento; siblings, Frank Avvento of Staten Island, Cosmo Avvento of Middletown, Carmela Hillery of Marlboro; Sister inlaw, Carolanne Avvento of Staten Island. As well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored their Uncle Angelo.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, September 3, 2021 at St. Thomas More Church, 186 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan. Entombment will follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleums, Marlboro.
