I am deeply saddened by Joe's passing. I enjoyed working with him and always found him to be insightful and thoughtful. He was also very helpful to my family in a time of need and impacted by son's life in a very positive way. He will be missed.

Dr. Miller was my psychotherapy supervisor for my third year of psychiatry residency. He helped me grow tremendously in my capacity to treat patients, and he vicariously helped those patients as well. I will continue to apply his teachings in my training and so forth, and in that manner, Dr. Miller's presence will continue to heal many. I am grateful for his time and advocacy.

So sorry to hear this , I worked with Joe at the Lantern restaurant in Totowa during our college days.

He was an all around great guy.

So sorry to learn of Joe’s sudden passing from this life. In my behavioral health role at HUMC, he and I often coordinated the transfer of patients to BRMC; then, when I became CNO at JSUMC, we found our professional paths had crossed again, this time serving on the same outstanding team. Joe was a delight to work with - always basing his decision making on what was the best for patients, their families and the communities. I knew Joe to be a man of faith as well; we often spoke of our daughters’ experiences at IHA and how much a Catholic education meant to our families. God bless Joe, his family and all of us who enjoyed being with him. Rest In Peace, Amen.

When we say it was our honor to know him and be within his radar, it is an understatement. In life you only meet a few people who stay with you...and when you think of them, a smile automatically comes to your face. That's Joe! I only met Joseph Miller once, and that was during my interview when I was getting hired to work for HMH. During my short interaction with him, he really made the impression of a kind and honorable man. I will keep him and his family in my prayers.

I had the honor of first meeting Joe through the American Hospital Association Behavioral Heath Constituency, and we became fast friends and colleagues. He was a brilliant, innovative, collaborative, kind and selfless leader who impacted the lives of many professionals and patients. Joe was always willing to share information or offer a hand to assist. Our organization is greatly saddened by this loss. Our deepest sympathies to Susan and his family.
