Obituary of Linda J. Silk
Linda J. Silk, 68, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully after a seven year battle with a glioblastoma on Friday, February 25, 2022 at home. Linda was born in Newark, raised in Irvington, and had lived in Parlin and Maplewood before settling to Freehold Township in 1984. She stayed home to raise her family but once they were grown, she became a bookkeeper for ERA Advantage Realty in Manalapan. Linda was a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine. She relished in her time in the sun on the beach either in Avon or Ocean City or even Punta Cana. Linda was an avid reader and was an excellent crocheter. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandma.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Mildred Gresham; son, Gregory Silk; brother, Keith Gresham; and sister, Barbara Fahnholz. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Gregory; daughters, Jennifer Carson and her husband, Bill of Howell, and Kimberly Silk of Howell; three grandchildren, Avery, William, Jr., and Charlotte; and aunt, Audrey Ottobre of Iselin.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, 169 West Main Street, Freehold Township.
