Condolences
It broke my heart to hear of Peters passing. He could always be counted on to keep in touch with those of us still in Brooklyn....going down memory lane, giving us family news and offering love and support. I remember many occasions over the years spending time laughing and sharing meals with him.
Whenever I wound up having a long conversation with him I would invariably recall the story Vivien told of one call between Aunt Jean and Peter that resulted in her having to run over to Jeans in the wee wee hours to check on her and see if everything was OK as Jean had stopped responding to him in the middle of their talk. It turned out she had just been lullabied to dreamland with his comforting talk and sweet demeanor.
In these later years when I looked at him I sometimes thought I was seeing my Aunt Laura, the warmest, gentlest person there ever was. Like his mother he was always accepting and caring, ready to share a smile, his time and his love.
I will miss him very much.
May the lord watch over all you…. Unfortunately right now you are all numb but in time grief will set in and so will the reality of such a great loss. Lean not only on each other but lean on your faith. Please don’t be mad or upset at the lord we all need to go home to heaven some sooner than others but nonetheless we will all make that journey…
I will forever have such great memories of everyone especially the very serious, yet lots of fun card games we all played together..
With much love Nicole (Bebe and Jerry’s daughter)
Uncle Pete you were a great genuine person that loved to enjoy life. The love and happiness that you showed us could never be forgotten and you will always be in our hearts. It hurts to know that we will never be able to talk and laugh together again in this lifetime but I know you will be right there to greet me in the next. I love you with all my heart.
Condolences to the Calandrino, Hernandez’s, Castro’s and extended families. Peter was a wonderful person, I will never forget the many years of card playing, holidays, and great times spent with him, and little Bo always trailing behind him. Peter was always kind, considerate and caring, he will be missed dearly.
~With Love Always,
