Obituary of Harvey J. Cohen
Harvey J. Cohen, 66, of Holmdel passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was born in Newark, raised in Hazlet, and had lived in Howell before settling in Holmdel in 1992. Harvey proudly served as a police officer with the Howell Township Police Department for thirty years prior to his retirement. A member of the Howell Township PBA, Harvey participated in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics of New Jersey. He was a Yankee, Ranger and Giants fan as well as Indiana Jones, James Bond and The Three Stooges. Harvey was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was driven by his love for his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Pauline Cohen; and his sister, Marlene Inselberg. Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Shelley Berg of Holmdel; children, Dana Nolan and her husband, Eric of Washington State, Jason Frommer and his wife, Danielle of Austin, TX, and Rebecca Cohen of Holmdel; four grandchildren, Jacob, Henry, Hannah and Cole; brother, Michael Cohen of Forked River; sister, Ann Katz of FL; and his dog, Nala.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Clayton & McGIrr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelpia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township at 9:00 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022. For those that cannot attend in person, the family invites you to participate via webcast, HERE. Interment will follow in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin.
