Condolences
Apparently my first attempt at leaving a message did not take. John's passing was a great loss to family, many friends he grew up with and number of non family members. As a member of the D&B Myrtl,e Beach Group I worked with John over 30 plus years and had many great times with him in the work environment and in play. He was the core of our group and a b_ _ _ buster from day one. He will be missed, as he has been over the past number of years due to his health, however, his memory lives on with us as someone we just plain enjoyed spending any kind of time with. Just today I found out our mutual friend, Tom Greene passed away, another D&B'er and Myrtle Beach legend. John had crossed over the river to the shade and awaits family and good friends, one joined him today. Cheers! Jody Henson, Beaufort, SC
The video tribute was very nice. The pic of him in the Tigers Little League uniform was price less since I was also on that team (left fielder). We were friends thru grades 6 to 12 and stayed friends all thru our college days and after. Double dated a lot with he and Pat. Gayle still says he was the best dance partner she's ever had. I was honored to serve as John's Best Man at his and Pat's wedding.
We fondly remember our visit to Rochester to their apartment and went with them to Niagara Fills for a day or 2. We also hosted them at our place in Tampa. We kind of lost touch with job changes & raising kids.
John called one day when we lived in Charlotte (about 1997) & invited me to join his D & B Golf Outing they did ever year in Myrtle Beach for a week. Good opp to meet up & catch up. Two yrs. later we found another long lost friend of both of us - Les Sari - & he agreed to join us at the annual gold outing. It was a time of really reaching back in time to re-live memories , many of which one the the other of us had forgotten. Of the 3 of us, John probably had the best memory.
I will miss my old friend. Alan & Gayle Osborne
Dear Pat and Family So very sorry to hear about John’s passing.I hope he rests in peace .
I am so sorry for your loss. He was a blessed man with a beautiful family. May he rest in peace.
So sorry to hear of Johns passing. Our deepest sympathy to Pat and Cole family.
To my brother-in-law John. You will be missed. I will always remember you saying that there must be something in the water on Halsted Street that made your wife, my sister, and me be the way we are. I always laughed knowing Halsted did in many ways define us. Lol. I wonder if my dad has a Ballentine beer waiting for you in Heaven. Missed already. Loved forever.
