Condolences
An obituary offers a life's outline; yet, we each engage in a journey, an individual pilgrimage, containing ingredients both planned and unplanned. Because creation is ongoing, reflecting the wonder of the Creator, there is benefit found in reflection of an individual pilgrimage.
Who has been and continues to be JCW for each of us?
Since my sister, Anna, introduced John to the family decades ago (7th or 8th grade for me), the mettle of the smiling gentlemanly fellow never stopped revealing itself. So for you, my dears, Anna, John, Joseph, Maryrose, Annmarie, Christine, spouses, offspring, family, and friends, the day we no longer celebrate John's life through memory, events, or words, we divest ourselves of a gift.
Psalm 121 is a reminder to look to the mountains (to the One higher than self) for strength...he did...absolutely. John lived his Baptism, Confirmation and was Eucharist-fortified. The family-posted photo, mirrors the man...focused, devoted, fortitude filled, purposeful, cheerful, loving, self-sacrificing, service oriented, wise, and more.
While death quiets, bringing both separation and a pain free venue, we remember that scriptural love promised--is eternal, it goes on.John's walk through the veil had to be quiet and firm-stepped as he lived.
Easily one visions the anticipated loving embrace and promised words...welcome home, good and faithful servant...rejoice in the Light, the goal of your pilgrimage!!!
So, Johnny, always in memory, this one is for you,
Rosa
I had the pleasure of sitting next to John for his last 5 years at The Bank of NY. John was hard working and dedicated, however he cared more about people and loved engaging with his coworkers. We shared many discussions such as sports, politics, movies (especially old ones), and even religion. John was not only knowledgeable and wise, but very tolerant of my sometimes opposing viewpoint. I’ll always remember that big smile and his positive attitude.
Everyday John wore a vest in the office. To pay tribute to him at his retirement party in 2011, myself and a bunch of others who worked closely with him wore vests to the event.

My condolences to the Williams family. I met John at daily Mass celebrated at St. Robert's years ago. He was such a gentleman and a man of faith. His love for the Blessed Mother was evidenced by the special license plate on his car. May he rest in peace.
