Obituary of John C. Williams
John C. Williams, 83, of Freehold passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Brooklyn and moved to Harrington Park before settling here in 1995. John was a graduate of the City College of New York. He worked in the American Depository Receipts Foreign Securities area for BNY Mellon for 40 years. John was proud of his country and felt it was an honor to serve in the United States Army. A man of strong faith and a devout Catholic, he was a former Eucharistic Minister at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church and a volunteer at the De La Salle Hall. John was a history buff who enjoyed the origin of words and enjoyed watching classic movies. He was a scholar athlete who could be found cheering on the Mets and Giants. John loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family, especially the love of his life, Anna with whom he shared many beautiful dances. Anna loved John in return with all her heart and soul.
He was predeceased by his parents, Milton and Avis Williams; brothers, Bernard Williams, Donald Williams and Richard Williams; sister, Jean Williams; and aunt, Lucy Waldmann. John is survived by his wife, Anna Williams of Freehold; five children, John Williams and his wife, Maryann, of Bayville, Joe Williams and his wife, Tracy, of Delaware, Maryrose Cooke and her husband, Brian, of Howell, Annmarie Wolochuk and her husband, Alex, of Robbinsville, and Christine Williams and her husband, Sean Naughton of Berkeley Heights; thirteen grandchildren, Amanda Coursey and her husband, Steve, Thomas Cooke and his wife, Chrissy, Anna Couillard and her husband, Bill, Juliane Williams, Katie Cooke, Tessa Williams, John F. Williams, Brian W. Cooke, John A. Williams, Elaine Wolochuk, Allyson Wolochuk, Emma Naughton and Jake Naughton; five great grandchildren, Stephen, Olivia, Kaylee, Josie and Declan; sister, Patricia Mittledorf; sisters-in-law, Eileen Williams, Julia Dimichino, Rose Rotondo and brother-in-law, Vinny Rotondo and his wife, Ruth.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at St. Catherine Of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
