Obituary of Dawn Navallo
On Sunday, November 20, Dawn Navallo, beloved mother, companion, friend, and hell of a cook, passed away suddenly at 57 years old. She was born to Frank Spinalli and Josephine DiStefano in Manhattan on June 3, 1965 and was later raised in Staten Island and attended Curtis High School. For the past 26 years, Dawn resided in Freehold, New Jersey.
Dawn is survived by her son Louis Navallo, her stepfather Dan Matejka, sister Lisa Matejka, ex-husband William Navallo, and her partner of 12 years, Ken Vaccaro, Ken’s daughter, Lisa Vaccaro, daughter-in-law, Meghan Lalonde, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who became family.
Dawn was the successful owner of multiple businesses including Lady Fingers Nail Salon, and most recently, Granny’s Grill restaurant in Cream Ridge. Cooking was Dawn’s true passion and those who knew her often admired her talent in the kitchen. Dawn was currently the Manager of Dunkin Donuts in Freehold Township.
Dawn was the life of every party; her beautiful smile and memorable laugh will be missed by many. She will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and unconditional support for those in need, including our local veterans and animal rescues.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Interment will be private. Donations in her name may be made to Operation Hook It, a group assisting retired veterans, and Amazing Mutts Puppy Rescue.
