Obituary of Jacquelyn A. Flaum
Jacquelyn A. Flaum, 78, of Freehold Township, NJ peacefully passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born in Newport News, Virginia and was raised in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn before settling in Freehold Township in 1973. Jacquelyn graduated from Fordham University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree and then graduated Columbia University where she obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work. She worked for the City of New York for over 47 years as the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Family Independence Administration/Operations before retiring in 2016. A woman of faith, Jacquelyn was a parishioner at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold Township. She enjoyed watching movies and was an avid reader. Jacquelyn truly enjoyed traveling and cherished her summers spent in Cape May. She also enjoyed expeditions to New York City filled with dining out and going to see Broadway shows.
She is predeceased by her parents, Edward and Josephine Donohue. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Phillip Flaum; three children, James E. Flaum of Staten Island, NY, Michelle E. Flaum and her fiancé Claude M. Bennett of Freehold, and Tiffany Cueto and her husband, Christian of Englishtown; and her beloved feline companions, Skylar, Sanibel, and Salem.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, NJ. Entombment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum, 361 Highway 79, Marlboro, NJ. Arrangements by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, NJ.
