Condolences
I just learned of Doug’s passing, I’m so incredibly sorry.
I’ve know Doug since 1982, we worked for Walter Mayer at Presidents Park Banquet Hall. Doug was such a kind, happy, funny man! He ALWAYS had a kind word and a big smile for me when we would run into each other. There were times I wouldn’t see him for years but when we did you would never know time had passed. (We would always reminisce about playing quarters after work). I will miss running into you Doug. Rest easy my friend
Such a good man
I have never met a kinder man that Doug. He was always smiling. He would do anything for you. For years they have had a 2nd home next to us here in the Poconos. Doug loved it here. We often talked about the wildlife. He especially loved to fish. But of course Doug also found time to work on projects while here.
Doug was the epitome of a “Gentleman “ We are happy to have called him our friend. The definition of Friend is: one attached to another by affection or esteem. We will miss our Friend.
I had the pleasure of working with Doug for three years of my life. For those three years, we made each other laugh, he helped me in a lot of ways, and overall he was a genuinely good person. It saddens me that I won’t get a chance to hear his jokes anymore. My condolences to the family he will be missed.
Our family ( The Fox’s) had the privilege to be next door neighbours to the wonderful Lallier clan back in 1970’s Reston VA.
Last night I did some sleuthing to find some photos of our old Reston house, and came across yours too. This morning I came across the notice of Doug’s passing; I am so saddened to hear this terrible news.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends. And what a beautifully written obituary! You managed to describe the same kid I looked up to back in 1976.
Doug was a one of a kind person. He was generous, kind and a funny man. Every time you were with Doug you didn't know if he was serious or joking. He had the best sense of humor. He always was talking about he's family how much he loved them. I knew Doug for over thirty years. It was a pleasure knowing him and he will surely be missed. RIP my friend.
Larger than Life. That’s who Doug was . A gentle giant with an extended four letter word vocabulary . Dan used to say Doug your on speaker and I’m with Heidi … lol. He was such a big part of our lives for the past 30 years. There was always a Doug call or visit or story that Dan would come home with almost daily . They were good friends. We are both so sad ..
