Obituary of Evelyn Freudenberger
Evelyn “Evie” Freudenberger, 80, of Monroe Twp., passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Temple University Hospital – Jeanes Campus surrounded by her loving family. Evie is one of four children and daughter of Theodore and Evelyn Walter. She was born in Orange, New Jersey and raised in Madison, New Jersey. She graduated with her Associates Degree from Endicott College and later attended Penn State University where she met her husband, Wayne. They lived in Pennsylvania before settling in Freehold 50 years ago. Evie was a devoted teacher at Hope Christian School for over 44 years, while teaching she also volunteered at Centra State Hospital in the evening at the front desk. In retirement, Evie worked at St. Gregory the Great Academy as a Hall Monitor and Summer Camp Counselor. Evie loved teaching and working with children. She was a member of the Freehold Township Women’s Club and was the Treasurer for some years. Evie enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and gardening. She is known for visiting her loved ones homes and rearranging everything to her liking. Evie was a caring, kind hearted and loving soul who could light up a room with just a smile. She found joy in Hallmark movies and a good root beer float. Above all, Evie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest gift was her family and countless friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Wayne Freudenberger of Monroe Twp.; daughter, Tracy O’Neill and her husband, Michael of Allentown; son, Brian Freudenberger and his wife, Evelina of Cottontown, TN; and grandchildren, Tyler O’Neill, Kelsey Princetta and her husband, Nicolas, and Collin O’Neill.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Church, 211 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be private.
