Obituary of Barbara L. Johnson

Barbara Lee Johnson, 88, of Howell passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. She was born in Henrietta OK, to Albert (Bud) and Zelda Stephenson. She lived in Oklahoma and California before moving to New Jersey in 1962. Barbara was a faithful parishioner of the Ardena Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess and a member of the choir. She was a housewife who raised her six children and also worked with her husband in the family business.

She was predeceased by Wesley Johnson Sr., her husband of 66 years.

Barbara is survived by children, Wesley Theol Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Howell, Susan Morris of MD, John Johnson and his wife, Katherine of PA, Laura Dusel and her husband, Charles of NY, Gordon Johnson of NJ, and James Johnson of Howell; grandchildren, Andrew, Joel, Kathryn, Whitney, Wm. Grant, Jeremias, Alexander, Charles, Philip, Brian, Sondra, Carly, Ella and James; and twenty-seven great-grandchildren and two brothers Bruce Stephenson and Alan Stephenson, both of CA.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM for the procession to her 11:00 AM funeral service at Ardena Baptist Church, 593 Adelphia Road, Howell.
