I’m so saddened by Jim’s passing. It’s hard to put into words how much I’ll miss him. Jim always had a kind word and a smile for everyone he met. My family loved him so much. He will be missed.
I first met James (Jim) Basile at a family gathering in December 1972. My husband, our son Billy and I just came back from a 3 year tour overseas. I had only heard good things about the man my sister Norma married and couldn’t wait to meet him. It didn’t take long for me to realize that she married a man that was honorable, loving, smart, good looking and had a very easy going personality.
Over the years, I knew Jim to be industrious and hard working. If you needed help with a project or had a question, you could always count on Jim to come through. He took pride in his home and did his best to make Norma’s vision of their home come true. Together, they created both a beautiful and loving home.
As the years went by, and their family grew, Jim and Norma had four girls. I could see every time I got together with them what a wonderful, loving father he was, and just how much his girls and Norma loved him . To say Jim will be missed is such an understatement.
I have no doubt that one day we will all be united. Until then, rest in peace, James Basile and know that you were truly loved.
