Obituary of Ellen L. Rauh

Ellen L. Rauh, 64, of Howell passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore University Medical Center surrounded by her son and daughter on Monday, September 18, 2023.  She was born in New Brunswick and raised in Metuchen.  Once marring her husband, they moved to Avenel before settling in Howell in 1995.  Ellen worked in the insurance industry for ten years in New York City before retiring to become a fulltime Mom.  She relished her time on the beach either in Belmar or Sea Isle City.  Ellen truly enjoyed camping with her family and friends.  Yet most of all, Ellen cherished the love she had for her husband, children, and the friendships she created throughout the years. 

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, James; her parents, Clifford and Thelma Doerr; and a brother, Clifford Christian Doerr.  She is survived by her adoring children, Jake Rauh and Hayley Rauh, both of Howell; mother-in-law, Eileen Rauh of Lakewood; her six feline companions and many dear friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at Christ Church, 71 Oak Glen Road, Howell on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Inurnment will follow in Brigadier General William C.
