John was my first true friend as a child. The first person I really bonded with. I’d often go over his parents’ house and they always made me feel at home. The best childhood and teenage memories of my life were with John at this house. Looking back, it feels like every weekend was spent having pool parties, playing sports, or going fishing with his dad, Gerard. Of course I can’t forget playing Halo on Xbox until 3 am, all while eating tons of snacks his mom Patricia would leave out for us. What more could teenage boys want. He was the type of rare friend where it didn’t matter that we went to different schools. It didn’t matter that we developed new friendships and relationships during the formative years of our college experience without each other. When we’d hang out, it would be like we just saw each other yesterday. I had amazing memories with John and I want to keep it that way. Thank you Gerard and Patricia from the bottom of my heart for bringing John into this world. John will always and forever be my best friend. I love you John.
