Obituary of Robert Morris
Robert Morris, 82, of Howell passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, April 19, 2024. Robert was a loving husband, father of three children, grandpop to eight grandchildren, and great grandpop to one.
He was raised in Freehold, where he met his wife of 63 years and settled in Howell in 1968. Robert received his bachelor's degree at Monmouth University and enjoyed a successful career as a Financial Manager for Wakefern Food Corp. for over 40 years.
Robert gave his time generously to many different organizations. He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Veronica where he was on the Parish Council, was a Eucharistic Minister and a funeral server. Robert was also a 3rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #6201 and a 4th Degree Knight of the Monsignor Baldwin General Assembly and a past faithful navigator. Saying Grace at all Family gatherings or singing his “bass solo” verses of Happy Birthday, Bob’s spirit and love were always felt while he was surrounded by his Family. He was a wonderful, giving man who was a caring dog lover, avid reader, chess player, card player and Giants fan.
He was happiest at family gatherings and loved traveling. He was a traveler who loved his global pilgrimages, and a Disney Vacation Club Member. Whether it was with his wife, family, church pilgrimages or just his “graduating” grandchildren, he was always up for an adventure, spiriting the family away for wonderful vacations. Through all of his activities and community involvement, the role he treasured the most was as Grandpop.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Morris and Stephen Morris; and his sister, Anne Smith. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Diana Morris; three daughters, Cindy Pusey and her husband, George of Lebanon Township, Laura Strope and her husband, Brian of Chesterfield and Jill Henig and her husband, Stephan of Millstone Twp.; eight grandchildren, Jacqueline Grafeld and her husband, Josh, Kimberly Pusey, Robert Pusey, Nicholas Strope, Kaitlyn Strope, Courtney Henig, Zachary Henig and Erik Henig; great grandson, James Ryan Grafeld; and brother-in-law, John Zarzyski.
