Condolences
Deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband, father, father-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I was moved by the testimony of the grand-kids talking about his love and devotion to family and how it flowed out from him and his wife touching family extended family and friends of the family. Also that part of this testimony was that he always attended church even on vacation and I really hope that these two traits are not mistaken for being independent and separate things. On the drive home I was reminded of the verse in Duteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.“ I do hope that everyone fully comes to know the God of their father and grandfather so that this river of love would never run dry.
We are so very saddened to read about a dear former neighbor, Henry's passing. I personally have many fond memories of those great summer days spent playing in those tar barrels in your backyard in Hillside with Peggy. Also, those live Easter chickens and ducks that were purchased at the pet shop on Liberty Ave. that Peggy and her brothers and sisters were allowed to have. How come those chickens always turned out to be Roosters? and we could always count on them to crow in the morning. I also fondly recall being invited to your shore home, and all the fun we had. Your home was like my second home. Thank you for some wonderful, happy memories from my childhood that I often talk about with my family and friends. May you find some comfort knowing how happy your home made others feel so welcome and a part of. God Bless you all. Dorothy Bader Reed
