Obituary of Barnet Giventer

BARNET E. GIVENTER, Esq., 53, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Tuesday, March 11, in Perth Amboy. Mr. Giventer was born in Eltonville, Staten Island, N.Y. and had lived in Old Bridge before moving to Freehold Township eight years ago. He was an attorney with his own practice, Barnet E. Giventer, Esq., on Clove Road, Staten Island, N.Y. for the past 27 years. Mr. Giventer received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Hartford, Hartford, Conn., and his law degree from Western New England School of Law, Springfield, Mass. He was a member of the Staten Island Bar Association. Mr. Giventer enjoyed skiing and jogging. He was predeceased by his father, Sidney Giventer. Surviving are his wife, Donna Giventer; a son, Evan Giventer of Freehold Township; a daughter, Sara Giventer of Freehold Township; his mother, Mildred Giventer of Monroe Township; a brother and his companion, Curt "Metalman" Giventer and Cynthia Hackett of Saranac, N.Y.; a sister-in-law and her husband, Gerlyn and Ronald Clark of Port Monmouth; his aunts and uncles, Arnold and Emma Rashkin of Fall Brook, Calif., and Sandra and Bernard Zions of Naples, Fla.; a great-uncle, John Nuzzo of New Dorp, Staten Island, N.Y.; two nephews, Joseph and Scott Brown; and a niece, Kathrine Clark. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at noon Saturday at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge. Entombment will follow service.
