I have many fond childhood memories growing up next door to Mr. Krawchuk. I remember the hot summer days would lead to craving ice cream which the Krawchuks always had a lot of in their downstairs freezer. Pat and I, the "Dynamic Duo" as Mr. Krawchuk called us, would help ourself to the flavor of our choice. What we didn't know was we were being watched. The chase was on! Pat and I scurrying up the stairs with Mr. Krawchuk close behind. We finally made it safely into the nearest bathroom. Safe until the next craving...
I also remember eating the big juicy tomatos from Mr. Krawchuk's garden. Pat and I ate them at least twice a day with Italian dressing one summer. By the end of the summer, as delicious as the tomatos were, I couldn't even look at a tomato!
Mr. Krawchuk always had time to listen and give you advice. He gave me advice to stay on my path to becoming an Actuary which I did and he was right.
Mr. Krawchuk was a very special person, always thinking of others before himself. He should be a role model for all of us. He will always be with me.
