Obituary of Michael Krawchuk
Michael P. Krawchuk, 87, of Freehold Township passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mike was born in New York City and had lived in the Bronx, Branford, CT, Fords, NJ, and St. Louis, MO before settling in Freehold Township in 1970. He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II serving in the European Theatre from 1945 to 1947. Mike was a graduate of Fordham University and retired from the Office of Emergency Management from the Veteran's Administration in 2000 after twenty years of service. He had been active in the Freehold Township Recreational Program as a coach of little league, soccer, and basketball. Mike had a passion for gardening especially his roses and tomatoes.
Mike was predeceased by his brothers, John Krawchuk and Nicholas Krawchuk. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Marion; two sons, Michael Krawchuk, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Bethlehem, PA and John Krawchuk and his wife, Tracy of Manchester; five daughters, Kathryn Blum of Telford, PA, Karen Haines and her husband, Tyler of Chagrin Falls, OH, Patricia Krawchuk of Howell, Jean Mansfield and her husband, Timothy of Freehold Township, and Barbara Krawchuk of Lake Como; eleven grandchildren, Julie Krawchuk, Michael Krawchuk, Johnny Krawchuk, Caitlin Blum, David Blum, Kristen Haines, Scott Haines, Kerry Clairmont and her husband, Christopher, Tara Mansfield, Kyle McKay, and Richard McKay; and three great grandchildren, Hailey Clairmont, Kyle McKay, and Annabelle McKay.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 9:00 AM for the Procession to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township for his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Freehold.
